MeeSeva Centres To Double Up As Digital Ad Hubs
Trained village-level entrepreneurs will help local shops and services reach customers online
Hyderabad: The government proposes to turn MeeSeva centres into digital advertising hubs to provide a platform for village‑level entrepreneurs (VLEs).
Under the programme, VLEs learn how to design creatives, draft promotional content, identify target audiences and manage campaigns. That means a kirana shop in a village, a salon on a roadside lane or even a small hospital can now walk into a nearby MeeSeva centre and ask for an online ad campaign instead of depending only on word of mouth.
The initiative, launched by the Electronic Service Delivery (Mee Seva) under the information technology, electronics and communications department, with support from Meta, has trained more than 150 VLEs from the CURE area of the city to create and run advertisements on social media platforms. For many local operators, long known for helping citizens with certificates and applications, the move opens a new income stream and a new identity — from service providers to digital growth partners.
Officials said the idea was not just about helping businesses sell more but was also about giving MeeSeva operators a stronger role in Telangana’s digital economy.
Commissioner T. Ravi Kiran said the collaboration reflected the government’s push to use technology for public service and rural empowerment. With MeeSeva’s wide reach and Meta’s digital advertising tools, even small and rural entrepreneurs who were once outside the marketing ecosystem can now access professional promotion at affordable cost.
