MBBS Student Dies By Suicide At RIMS

ADILABAD: Medico Sahil Chowdhury, 22, from Jaipur in Rajasthan, a second year MBBS student at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Adilabad, died by suicide on Wednesday. RIMS authorities informed his parents about the incident.

It is learnt that Chowdhury took the extreme step when he was alone in the hostel room, and his roommates were studying in college. On returning to the room, the students immediately shifted him for treatment, but he was declared dead.

RIMS director Jaisingh Rathod said Chowdhury was active and good at studies and was preparing for examinations scheduled from August 2. The director said they will investigate the incident by constituting a committee.
