Man Booked for Bid to Encroach Property
He allegedly forged agreement to acquire a GST regn
Hyderabad:Banjara Hills police have arrested a marble trader, Kamal Kishore Bhansali, for allegedly forging a rental agreement to fraudulently acquire a GST registration and attempting to encroach upon a prime property belonging to an ophthalmologist's ailing mother. Police aid Bhansali was the proprietor of Bhansali Marble Enterprises. ateshwar Rao, an ophthalmologist, lodged a complaint with the police against Bhansali.
According to Banjara Hills sub-inctor K. Vijay, the property belonged to the doctor’s mother Bhoompally Ramamani.
Due to her prolonged ill health, Dr Rao held the general power of attorney (GPA) and was managing the estate. Police investigations revealed that Bhansali allegedly forged Ramamani's signature to draft a fake rental agreement for the premises with a clear "malafide intention" to claim occupancy and slowly encroach upon the site.
During interrogation, Bhansali allegedly confessed to the crime. He reportedly admitted that he had never approached Ramamani or her son for a legitimate no objection certificate (NOC) or land authorisation, and had instead submitted fabricated papers to government portals.
Bhansali used the forged rental deed to deceitfully procure a GSTIN registration under his business name. Following the police scanner, the GST department initiated an independent inquiry, recorded the landlady's statement, and immediately suspended Bhansali’s commercial registration.
The Banjara Hills police have registered a case against the merchant under Crime Number 611 of 2026. Police booked Bhansali for forgery, criminal intimidation and breach of trust under the BNS and produced him before a court for judicial remand
