Many MNCs Showed Interest in Telangana, Says Ponguleti
Pro-investor policies and Bharat Future City draw strong global interest
Hyderabad: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Thursday said that the Telangana Rising delegation led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy achieved resounding success at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos by firmly positioning Telangana on the global investment map through its pro-investor and pro-industry policies.
In an exclusive telephonic interview to Deccan Chronicle from Davos, the minister stated that the Telangana delegation’s approach this year was strategic and forward-looking, with greater emphasis on showcasing Telangana’s comprehensive policy framework to global investors rather than merely focusing on signing memorandums of understanding (MoUs).
Srinivas Reddy, who was part of the Telangana Rising delegation, said the visit yielded significant results by attracting big-ticket investments and generating strong interest from multinational companies across diverse sectors.
He noted that the state government deliberately chose to present detailed policy documents on life sciences, artificial intelligence, green power, renewable energy and allied sectors to demonstrate Telangana’s long-term commitment to sustainable and technology-driven growth.
According to him, this approach resonated strongly with global industry leaders who are increasingly seeking policy clarity, stability and execution capability before making investment decisions.
The minister said the delegation aggressively promoted the upcoming Bharat Future City as a landmark project that symbolises Telangana’s next phase of urban and industrial development.
Spread across 30,000 acres on the outskirts of Hyderabad, Bharat Future City is envisioned as a multi-sectoral and sustainable hub with dedicated zones for artificial intelligence, education, healthcare, industries, residential communities and entertainment. He said the concept generated keen interest among investors as it integrates smart infrastructure, green energy, digital ecosystems and high-quality urban living, making it one of the most ambitious urban development projects in the country.
Srinivas Reddy said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the Telangana Rising delegation also unveiled the Telangana Next Gen Life Sciences Policy 2026-30 at Davos.
He described the policy as a major attraction for global pharmaceutical and life sciences companies, adding that several international players had expressed their intent to visit Telangana shortly and submit concrete investment proposals to the state government. The policy, he said, is designed to strengthen Telangana’s position as a global hub for life sciences, biotechnology, medical research and advanced manufacturing.
Criticising the previous BRS government, Srinivas Reddy said Telangana had suffered from the absence of structured and sector-specific policies for nearly a decade. He said there were no comprehensive state policies on power, green energy, tourism, artificial intelligence or renewable energy, which created uncertainty and discouraged investors.
This lack of policy direction, he added, became a major stumbling block in attracting large-scale investments. He asserted that the Congress government addressed this gap within two years of coming to power by formulating world-class policies aligned with global best practices, covering Life Sciences, AI, green power, renewable energy, tourism and other growth-oriented sectors.
The minister said Telangana’s new policy framework became the cynosure of all eyes at the Davos Summit, drawing overwhelming response from global companies, investment funds and industry associations. He expressed confidence that the groundwork laid at WEF would translate into substantial investments in the near future.
“Our mission has been accomplished and we are totally satisfied with the Davos visit this year. The dividends of this mission will soon be visible in the form of investments and job creation in Telangana,” he said.
Srinivas Reddy said the state government’s immediate priority is to ensure swift grounding of the MoUs signed during the summit within the next two months. He added that besides formal agreements, several companies had already submitted Expressions of Interest (EoIs) to the government.
The Chief Minister, he said, has instructed officials to invite all interested companies and investors to Telangana, hold detailed discussions with them and facilitate speedy approvals and project implementation. Srinivas Reddy stated that the government is committed not only to attracting investments but also to ensuring their timely execution, thereby translating global interest into tangible development on the ground.
