MANUU to Host Conference on English Education History
Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) will host the 3rd HELE Conference on January 29 and 30, where 46 research papers will examine the evolution of English language education in India, from the colonial period to the post-independence era. Organised by the Department of English in collaboration with the Society for Studies in the History of English Language Education (HELE), the conference will focus on "History of English Language Education in India: Interactions and Implementation."
The event will feature an inaugural session with chief guest Prof. V. Rajendra Prasad and a valedictory session presided over by Prof. V. Prakasam. Highlights include a workshop by Prof. Parmila V. Rao and plenary talks by Prof. Salma Farooqui and Prof. Imtiaz Hasnain. According to Prof. K. Nagendra, head of the Department of English, the conference is a platform to reflect on the historical and future trajectories of English education in India.
