NALGONDA: The enforcement team of the Telangana excise and prohibition department on Monday arrested a man at Sand Stand in Bhadrachalam, Bhadradri-Kothagudem district, and seized 43 kg of ganja worth ₹22 lakh from his possession.

The accused was identified as K. Surender Singh (23), a native of Rajkot, Rajasthan. Excise (enforcement) sub-inspector of Khammam, Sridhar Rao, said Surender Singh had been living in Hyderabad for the past five years and was involved in selling ganja in the city.

He allegedly rented a car in Hyderabad, procured 43 kg of ganja from a person in Odisha, and transported it to Hyderabad.

Acting on credible information, the excise enforcement team intercepted the car at Bhadrachalam and took Surender Singh into custody.

The seized ganja and the accused were handed over to Bhadrachalam police for further investigation.
