Man Fails to Secure Job, Dies by Suicide

Hyderabad:A 30-year-old man died allegedly by suicide at a residential apartment complex in Petbasheerabad on Wednesday. The deceased, identified as Sai Charan Reddy, a native of Biknoor village in Kamareddy district, had come to Hyderabad in search of employment. He was residing at Lingana Apartment in the Godavari Homes area in Petbasheerabad after moving from his native place.
Police stated that the man was unemployed and had been actively seeking employment. According to preliminary findings, he was distressed about not being able to secure a job after arriving in the city and also had some family disputes. He was found dead on December 17.
The death came to light after his father alerted his neighbours about him not answering phone calls. When the neighbours broke into the house, they found him dead.
Police registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to his death. His body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
PT Teacher gets 5-year RI for Harassing Minor
Hyderabad:A physical training (PT) teacher has been sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment in a case relating to the sexual harassment of a minor girl during a school trip in 2016.
Petbasheerabad Inspector K. Vijayavardhan said the convict, identified as Dappulapudi Suresh, 35, misbehaved with a Class 8 student on August 30, 2016, while accompanying students from St. Ann’s School to a sports meet at Gachibowli. The incident occurred during the bus journey, following which a complaint was lodged.
Based on the complaint, then Sub‑Inspector D. B. Prem Kumar registered a case and began the investigation. The case was later tried before the Special POCSO Court, Medchal.
On Wednesday, after hearing arguments presented by Special Public Prosecutor G. Prabhakar Reddy and examining the evidence on record, the court found Suresh guilty. The presiding judge, K. Venkatesh, convicted him.
The court sentenced Suresh to five years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹3,000, police said.
Nalgonda geologist dies of cardiac arrest in Tanzania
Nalgonda:A geologist from Nalgonda district, Badugu Raju, 38, died of a cardiac arrest at Dar es Salaam in Tanzania on Thursday.
Raju was a native of Palivela village in Munugode mandal of Nalgonda district and had been working with a private company in Tanzania for the past three years. He had visited his native place six months ago and returned to Tanzania two months back after spending about four months with his family.
Family members said they received information about Raju’s death from representatives of the company he was working for. He is survived by his wife and a 10-year-old son.
DGP forms new Sajjanar-led SIT on phone tapping case
Hyderabad:DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy on Thursday formed a new nine-member Special Investigating Team composed of senior police officials headed by Hyderabad police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar to probe into the unauthorised phone tapping case.
Based on the government's decision, the DGP constituted the new team for fast tracking the investigation and for filing a chargesheet. The unauthorised phone tapping case was registered in the Panjagutta police station, and a Special Investigating Team (SIT) has already taken up the investigation.
Shivadhar Reddy said the SIT will work under the supervision of Sajjanar. The other officers include Ramagundam police commissioner Ambar Kishore Jha, Siddipet police commissioner S M Vijay Kumar, Madhapur DCP Rituraj, Maheshwaram DCP K. Narayan Reddy, Greyhounds Group Commander M. Ravinder Reddy, Rajendra Nagar additional DCP K.S. Rao, Investigating Officer and Jubilee Hills ACP P. Venkatagiri, TGANB DSP Ch. Sridhar, and HMRL DSP Nagender Rao.
