HYDERABAD: A 29-year-old man died by suicide in the Uppal police station limits after consuming poison, reportedly due to severe financial distress caused by losses in online trading.
The deceased was identified as Ravichandra, a resident of South Swaroop Nagar in Uppal. Originally from Achampet in Nagarkurnool district, he had been living in a rented house with his family in Uppal for about a year. Ravichandra had been engaged in online trading for five years and had incurred heavy losses over time, which placed increasing financial pressure on his family. The losses are said to have led to economic difficulties, leaving him deeply distressed.
In this state, he procured sodium nitrate powder through an online platform and consumed it at his residence. After ingesting the substance, Ravichandra informed his family members that he was feeling unwell. Alarmed by his condition, the family rushed him to a private hospital in Uppal for emergency treatment.
Doctors examined him and declared that he had been brought dead. The body was later shifted for post-mortem examination, after which it was handed over to the family for the last rites.
Based on a complaint lodged by his younger brother, Nandakishore, the Uppal police registered a case and initiated an investigation.
