The audio reveals someone calling the snake a cobra.
Hyderabad: A merchant’s reckless attempt to scare his friends with a venomous snake cost him his life at his farmhouse in Moinabad on Friday night. Police said Zayed Khumaid Mohiuddin Hussaini, 30, a resident of Rajendranagar, spotted what is believed to be baby krait while spending time with friends after dinner. He picked up the reptile to frighten them, holding its head firmly between his thumb and forefinger.
The snake coiled itself around his wrist. A viral video showed his friends telling Mohiuddin to release the snake, but he refused. Moments later, it bit him on his right thumb. The audio reveals someone calling the snake a cobra.
Mohiuddin dismissed the bite as harmless, telling his friends he did not need treatment. Soon after, he complained of breathing difficulty and his condition deteriorated. He was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors said the venom had spread through his body. Despite treatment, he died within three hours.
Wildlife experts have warned against handling snakes without training or protective gear, urging the public to call rescuers or forest officials whenever such reptiles are spotted.
