A man survived an alleged murder attempt by his wife and filed a complaint at Bachupally police station, alleging that his wife plotted to kill him with the help of her friends.
According to police, the complainant, Nanavat Ramdas, hailed from Vanaparthi district, married Jyothi in 2009 and the couple settled in Balanagar for livelihood. They have two daughters. Due to marital disputes, Jyothi filed a domestic violence case against Ramdas three years ago and began living separately in Rajiv Gruhakalpa, Nizampet, while Ramdas moved back to his native place. Recently, the couple agreed to reunite and started living together again.
A source said, "On Saturday evening, Ramdas got a call from a man saying that Jyothi wanted to meet him at a spot where she sells rotis. Later, a youth arrived and urged Ramdas to join him for drinks. When Ramdas declined, Jyothi allegedly persuaded him. The man took Ramdas to a wine shop, purchased beer, and brought him to a circle near Indiramma Colony in Bowrampet and attacked him."
Two more men joined and attacked Ramdas with beer bottles on his head, causing him to lose consciousness. Believing him dead, the attackers fled. Around midnight, Ramdas regained consciousness and informed his brother and the duo filed a complaint with the Bachupally police.
Bachupally police registered a Zero FIR and transferred the case to the Dundigal police station as the attack location falls under their jurisdiction. Ramdas alleged that his wife masterminded the attack to eliminate him and get closer to her lover and clear obstacles in her personal life. Investigation is underway.
