Malkajgiri Police Cracks Down on Belt Shops, Seizes Liquor worth Rs.2.76 Lakh
The teams conducted raids on various belt shops and found persons involved in the illegal possession and sale of liquor without valid authorization or licence
Hyderabad: Acting on credible information regarding the illegal sale of liquor through belt shops, the SOT Malkajgiri Commissionerate teams conducted special raids at various locations under the limits of different police stations in Uppal and Malkajgiri.
During the special drive on Thursday and Friday, the teams conducted raids on various belt shops and found persons involved in the illegal possession and sale of liquor without valid authorization or licence, in violation of the provisions of the Telangana Excise Act and the relevant rules.
The violators were apprehended and the liquor found in their possession was seized. The SOT Malkajgiri Commissionerate teams booked a total of 31 Excise Act cases, apprehended 31 people, and seized approximately 345.99 litres of liquor, having a total value of approximately Rs.2.76 lakh.
The arrested persons and the seized liquor were handed over to the police stations concerned for taking necessary legal action under the relevant provisions of the Telangana Excise Act.
