Major General Srinivas Assumes Command as GoC Telangana, AP
The officer will oversee administration, infrastructure development, veterans’ welfare and military-civil synergy in the sub area
Hyderabad: Major General G Srinivas assumed the appointment of General Officer Commanding (GOC), Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA) on Wednesday. On assuming command, the General Officer paid homage to the Bravehearts at the War Memorial and laid a wreath in a solemn ceremony.
The officer is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun did his early schooling from Sainik School, Korukonda. He was commissioned into Regiment of Artillery in 1990.
A graduate of National Defence College, the officer is also MPhil in Defence and Security studies and an MPhil in Management Studies. During the career spanning thirty five years, the General Officer has held important Command, Staff and Instructional assignments to include an exposure with United Nations in Democratic Republic of Congo, Military Secretary Branch, Command of a Brigade in Strike Formation, Brigadier Quartermaster of a Corps, Chief Instructor at School of Artillery.
As Major General Operational Logistics of a Command in Western Front the officer played a pivotal role in ensuring Operational readiness of the Command during Op SINDOOR.
In his last tenure as Commandant of College of Defence Management, Secunderabad he oversaw the conduct of the prestigious Higher Defence Management Course.
As GOC TASA, the General Officer is the Local Military Authority for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He will oversee administration, infrastructure development, veterans’ welfare and military-civil synergy in the Sub Area.
