Major Fire at Gas Refilling Center in Kukatpally; No Casualties Reported

Hyderabad: A major fire broke out at a building, reportedly after eight cylinders exploded during illegal gas refilling, in Prashanthnagar in Kukatpally, at around 9.30 pm on Tuesday.

No casualties were reported. According to Kukatpally police, fire tenders were pressed into service after an alert was received, and firefighters together brought the fire under control. All the residents from even adjoining houses were evacuated, and the area was cordoned off.

A gas leak during illegal refilling is suspected to be the cause of the fire. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
