Seethakka: SHG Enrollment Expanded to Cover Women from Age 15 to Elderly

HYDERABAD: Women and child welfare minister D. Seethakka on Monday said girls from the age of 15 to elderly women were being enrolled into self-help groups (SHGs), with special groups planned for adolescent girls, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities. She added that Indira Mahila Shakti canteens would soon be set up near temples across the state to serve devotees. Responding to questions in the Assembly, she said the government is striving to ensure that every woman becomes a member of a SHG.
