Light to Moderate Rains Likely in Hyderabad on Friday; IMD Issues Yellow Alert For Telangana

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) - Hyderabad has forecasted light to moderate rains likely in Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana for Friday.
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Telangana for Friday and forecasted that “thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds(30-40 KMPH) are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, Vikarabad, Janagaon, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthi, Narayanpet, Jogulamba Gadwal.”
For Hyderabad, IMD-H predicted “cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm showers accompanied with gusty winds(30-40 kmph) are very likely to occur in the city.”
The Met department said that the maximum and minimum temperatures in Hyderabad are likely to be around 34°C and 24°C respectively.
IMD-Hyderabad further said that the maximum temperatures will likely fall 2 to 3 degrees today and thereafter gradually rise by 2 –3 degrees during the next 3 days.
Heavy rains lashed Hyderabad on Thursday, bringing much-needed relief from the scorching heat. The met department has forecasted more rainfall over the next few days.
According to the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), several parts of Hyderabad recorded significant rainfall. The highest rainfall was reported at GHMC head office in Himayatnagar, at 91 mm, followed by Malakpet (90 mm), Saroornagar (89.5 mm), Goshamahal (88 mm), and Musheerabad (87.8 mm).
