HYDERABAD: The BRS working president and former minister K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday challenged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to join him in a debate at Medigadda barrage so that Revanth Reddy gets an opportunity to prove his claim that the barrage has collapsed.

Rama Rao, speaking at a meeting of his party leaders at Telangana Bhavan, said this was yet another offer to the Chief Minister from the BRS for a public debate and reminded that the BRS earlier invited Revanth Reddy for a debate at the Press Club, offering him three full days of preparation. “We went there. But Revanth ran away. He is a coward who talks big and disappears when confronted. I am challenging him again now, let us have a debate, not at Nagarjunasagar as he challenged, but at Medigadda barrage itself,” Rama Rao said.

Rama Rao also said Revanth Reddy’s continued use of “vulgar and undignified language,” Rama Rao said this is not the kind of language a responsible public representative should use. “Personally, I do not believe in using abusive language. But with Revanth, there is no choice. He only understands gutter language. Just like a biting dog needs a stick, we are also forced to respond in his own tone.”

The BRS leader added that “Dr B.R. Ambedkar would never have imagined that individuals like Revanth Reddy – frauds and conmen – would come to power. That’s why the Constitution gave a five-year term otherwise there would have been a recall mechanism to throw such people out of office.”
