Leopard Sighting Puts Mopal Villages on Alert

Nizamabad: A reported leopard sighting on the outskirts of Mopal mandal headquarters has prompted residents of nearby villages to remain cautious, particularly after dark.
According to villagers, the leopard was spotted on Friday on the road from Mothiram Naik Thanda towards Kalpol. Those who noticed the animal alerted residents of nearby villages.
The forest department was informed on Saturday. Forest officials visited Mopal village and began efforts to ascertain the leopard’s movements and look for pugmarks and other signs of its presence.
Officials advised residents not to venture out alone after dark and to avoid entering forested areas unless necessary.
Forest officials are expected to monitor the area and assess the situation based on the animal’s tracks and movement.
