HYDERABAD: BJP OBC Morcha national president Dr K. Laxman strongly condemned the statements by the Congress on the Pahalgam terror incident, saying it was trying to politicise the attack.

Addressing a press conference, Laxman said Congress leader K.C. Venugopal tried to paint the incident as an intelligence failure, when the nation was aware that the terror attack was carried out after the controversial statements by Pakistan Army chief Asim Munir who earlier led ISI.

“It was not an attack on tourists, but an attack on the country and Hindus, but the Congress is not ready to accept it,” Laxman said.

Laxman also took strong exception to Robert Vadra’s statements that the incident is an outcome of insecurity among Muslims due to actions of the Centre. "When the entire nation was shocked over the incident, Vadra tried to justify the attack on Hindu tourists," he said.

BJP leaders, including Laxman, BJP general secretaries Chandrasekhar Tiwari (organisation), Gujjula Premender Reddy, state secretary Kolli Madhavi and others party leaders observed a two-minutes silence at the state party office to pay homage to those who died in the attack.
