KTR Slams Police For Its Action In Rape Case Naming Bandi's Son
In a statement, Rama Rao wondered if life in the state was a “dystopian nightmarish hell” and asked why the victim and her family were being harassed and treated as criminals.
HYDERABAD: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday slammed the police for allegedly ignoring for more than three months the pleas of a 17-year-old victim who had alleged that she was raped by the son of Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
In a statement, Rama Rao wondered if life in the state was a “dystopian nightmarish hell” and asked why the victim and her family were being harassed and treated as criminals. “Why is the son of the Union minister of state for home affairs not being booked and investigated as every other Pocso crime perpetrator,” Rama Rao asked.
He alleged that the minor girl had attempted to die by suicide twice, and now she was being victim shamed by the police which filed a “honey-trap & extortion case on a minor girl.” Rama Rao asked “under what rule did the Telangana police file such a case.”
The BRS leader also asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi if his ‘Beti Bachao’ was just a slogan, and wanted to know what action Modi would take against Sanjay’s son “Does he get a free pass? When will Bandi Sanjay resign or be dismissed from council of ministers,” Rama Rao asked.
He targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asking if his party was running a ‘jungle raj” in Telangana and whether he will come to Hyderabad and stand by the victim and her family like he did in Unnao Case, or such actions by Rahul Gandhi do not apply to a victim in Telangana.
