Nizamabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao described the Telangana Congress manifesto as the “biggest deception of this century,” alleging that the ruling party has betrayed every section of the population in the state.
He likened Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's dual nature to the character Vikram in the film Aparichitudu, where the protagonist plays two contrasting roles, Ramu and Remo. Rama Rao claimed that, in a similar fashion, the Chief Minister had misled the people while failing to fulfil his electoral promises.
He made these remarks on Friday while participating in the 'Dalit Atma Gourava Sabha' held at Lingampet mandal headquarters in the Yellareddy Assembly constituency of Kamareddy district. During the event, he felicitated Dalit leader and former MPP president Mudam Sailoo, who was reportedly disrespected by the police over a flexi banner issue on April 14, the birth anniversary of Dr B.R. Ambedkar.
In his address, Rama Rao accused both Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka of deceiving farmers by failing to deliver on their promises of a ₹2 lakh crop loan waiver, the Rythu Bharosa scheme, and a ₹500 bonus. He also criticised them for neglecting the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, who together comprise 26 percent of Telangana’s population.
He remarked that the defeat of the BRS in the recent Assembly and Parliament elections had not caused any loss to the Kalvakuntla family. He added that if people are willing to be deceived by the Congress again in the upcoming elections, the BRS is prepared to continue in opposition. However, he asserted that if the public desires a prosperous future for Telangana, they should support the leadership of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
Rama Rao further alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has betrayed unemployed youth, women, farmers, and various other sections of Telangana society, while favouring contractors from Andhra Pradesh.
BRS MLA V. Prashanth Reddy, MLC Deshapathi Srinivas, and former MLAs Bajireddy Govardhan, Gampa Govardhan, Hanumanthu Shinde, Jajala Surender, among others, were present at the event.
