Hyderabad: BRS MLA Padi Koushik Reddy appeared before the CID at their Hyderabad office on Saturday.

He was summoned by the CID in connection with a case filed against him related to an incident at Sammakka Sarakka Temple. The case involves allegations of unlawful assembly and obstruction of police personnel during the Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara in January.

The case relates to an incident on January 29 during the Medaram (Sammakka–Sarakka) Jatara in Veenavanka mandal, where a confrontation reportedly took place between the MLA and police personnel on duty.

Police had allegedly restricted his movement towards the festival site citing law and order concerns. During the altercation, he is accused of staging a sit-in that disrupted traffic and using objectionable language against the commissioner.

The case, initially registered as Case No. 30/2026 at Huzurabad police station, was later transferred to the CID by the state government. The MLA has been summoned under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita. The notice warns against tampering with evidence and states that legal action will follow if he fails to cooperate.
