Adilabad: Former MLA of Sirpur (T) Koneru Konappa, who joined the Congress from the BRS before parliament elections, on Saturday said he will contest the next Assembly elections as an independent if people give their blessings to him. He alleged that there were many groups in the Congress in his Assembly constituency.

Without taking names, he said someone cancelled the Rs 75 crore bridge he had sanctioned at Gundaipet to improve the road connectivity between Maharashtra and Telangana.

Konappa was addressing a public meeting in Veerdandi in Kautala mandal on Friday night. He alleged that he had met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and requested him to release funds but in vain.
