KLIS Ex-Top Engg To Face ACB Grilling

Hyderabad:Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials, who took custody of irrigation officer Bhookya Hariram in connection with an alleged illegal assets case, are likely to question him in connection with the irregularities taking place in different corporations. According to company registration records, Bhookya, director with Kaleshwaram Irrigation Project Corporation Limited, is registered with the ministry of corporate affairs (MCA).
The data said that Hariram was associated with three companies: As director with Manjeera Lift Irrigation Corporation Limited; as managing director with Kaleshwaram Irrigation Project Corporation Limited and as nominee director with the Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited. The total paid-up capital of the companies where Bhookya held active positions was Rs 15,117 crore.
The ACB officials are all set to question the accused officer in connection with irregularities in these projects and would open three bank lockers which are being maintained by Hariram.
The court granted five-day police custody of the accused officer for questioning in connection with the alleged illegal assets cases. ACB officials would also verify the seized property documents to estimate the total worth of the properties. The ACB officials also suspected the benami transactions by the accused officer.
A few days ago, the ACB registered cases and conducted searches on 13 locations in Hyderabad and Medak where the accused officer amassed illegal properties.
