Hyderabad:Union minister Kishan Reddy said that politics had stooped to disgraceful level with top leaders indulging in cheap talk from public forums, and underscored the need for all politicians to emulate former prime minister P.V. Narasimha Rao.

Speaking after paying tribute to Narasimha Rao on his 21st death anniversary at PV Ghat on Necklace Road, Kishan Reddy hailed the former prime minister as a great leader who took key decisions in national politics. Many drew inspiration from Narasimha, Reddy added.

He urged all parties to adopt Rao's ethical politics, focus on public issues, and practice restraint. "Today's leaders must emulate his values and avoid cheap talk," he stressed.

India's strong economic role today owes much to Narasimha Rao's reforms. Kishan Reddy recalled that Narasimha Rao, as Prime Minister, had attended a meeting of the BJP Yuva Morcha on the National Youth Policy draft and provided vital suggestions for an inclusive policy involving all parties

Narasimha Rao took bold steps to revive the economy from the crisis. He showed political maturity by sending Opposition leader Atal Behari Vajpayee to UN events as India's representative. His trust in Vajpayee sets an example, Reddy noted.

Kishan Reddy credited Rao's role in Ram Mandir construction. Despite pressure to suppress the movement, Narasimha Rao stayed supportive amid controversies. The MIM and the Congress criticized, but he responded positively.

Reddy condemned the Congress for refusing to allow the body of Rao into the AICC headquarters for people to pay truibute.
