HYDERABAD: Union minister G. Kishan Reddy praised the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for approving the policy for auction of coal linkage for seamless, efficient and transparent utilisation (CoalSETU).

In a social media post, said a dedicated 'CoalSETU Window' was being introduced under the NRS (non-regulated sector) linkage policy. This window enabled auction-based long-term coal linkages for any industrial use or export, ensuring fair access to domestic coal and reducing import dependence.

The policy offered long-term coal linkages without end-use restrictions and opens participation to all domestic industrial coal buyers except traders, Kishan Reddy said. It also allowed exporting up to 50 per cent of the linkage quantity, provides flexible utilization across group companies, ensures higher availability of washed coal to promote cleaner and more efficient use, and enhances ease of doing business while accelerating coal resource deployment.
