Kishan, Jupally Open 50-Bed Critical Care Facility Worth ₹23.75 cr at RIMS

State Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, along with Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, inaugurated the Critical Care Unit at RIMS, Adilabad.

Adilabad: Union minister for coal and mines G. Kishan Reddy and tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Friday inaugurated a 50-bed critical care centre constructed at an estimated cost of ₹23.75 crore at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Adilabad district.

Addressing the gathering, Kishan Reddy said both the Central and State governments were working in coordination to provide quality healthcare to the poor and to ensure the overall development of Adilabad district. He said efforts were also being made to strengthen infrastructure and promote agricultural development in the region.
Jupally Krishna Rao said the State government was giving priority to healthcare in Adilabad, where a large population belongs to poor and marginalised communities. He said special measures were being taken to reduce maternal and child mortality in government hospitals.
The minister said the coverage under the Arogya Sri scheme had been enhanced from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh and that ₹800 crore had been released towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. He added that the government had recruited 4,330 doctors and 6,956 staff nurses across the State to strengthen the public healthcare system.
