Kiran Kumar Reddy Urges Centre to Support Telangana’s Infra Projects
“I will continue to pursue these proposals with the Union Government. Hyderabad and Telangana need stronger regional connectivity, better logistics and modern road infrastructure to sustain economic growth," Reddy said
Hyderabad: Telangana’s growing transport and infrastructure needs require long-term planning and decisive support from the Central government, said Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday, stating that he had taken up two important proposals with the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.
The national highway status for two key road corridors pertained to Sangareddy–Narsapur–Toopran–Gajwel–Jagdevpur–Bhongir–Choutuppal and Choutuppal–Amangal–Shadnagar–Sangareddy.
Another Rs.45,000 crore proposal for 10 new greenfield radial roads along the metro corridor, connecting Hyderabad’s existing Outer Ring Road (ORR) with the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR).
The Minister has informed that the policy for declaring new national highways is under consultation and that these proposals will be processed after the guidelines are finalised.
“I will continue to pursue these proposals with the Union Government. Hyderabad and Telangana need stronger regional connectivity, better logistics and modern road infrastructure to sustain economic growth," he said.
“Our demand is clear- Telangana deserves timely decisions and the infrastructure investment needed for its future,” he added.
