Hyderabad: Hours after Union minister G. Kishan Reddy wrote to AICC leader Sonia Gandhi questioning the implementation status of the Congress’ Six Guarantees, Congress Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy countered the BJP leader, urging him instead to press the NDA government at the Centre to release funds for Telangana’s development.

Referring to the Union minister's letter, Kiran Kumar Reddy noted that it took two years for the Congress in the state to raise questions about the guarantees, schemes, and Vision document issued by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

“After the panchayat election results, Prime Minister Narendra Modi summoned (Telangana) BJP MPs and reprimanded them for the party’s poor performance in the state. Modi observed that Kishan Reddy is responsible for the BJP’s situation in Telangana, both as the former state president and now as a Union minister,” Kiran Kumar Reddy said.

He questioned why Kishan Reddy had remained silent during the BRS’ 10-year rule, when, according to him, Telangana’s wealth was looted and corruption plagued the Kaleshwaram project. “Why didn’t Kishan Reddy stop the Kalvakuntla family from looting thousands of crores through IT, CBI, and ED,” he asked.

The Bhongir MP asserted that the Congress government is implementing the guarantees without interruption, while accusing the BJP of attempting to damage the party’s reputation through such letters.
