Khammam Student Dies by Suicide Due to Family’s Financial Woes

Nalgonda: An 18-year-old girl died by suicide at Kaviraju Nagar in Khammam city on Wednesday.

The deceased, Batla Srujana, was a BSc student at SRBGNR College in Khammam. She reportedly took the extreme step in a room at her residence in the early hours of the day, allegedly due to her family’s financial difficulties. According to police, her father Kanakaraju passed away a year ago, while her mother Padma has been undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad for the past week due to health issues.

Khammam Town police shifted the body to the mortuary of the Government General Hospital, Khammam, for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
