The Sub-Registrar demanded a bribe of Rs.50,000 and accepted Rs.30,000

Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday caught Aruna, a Sub-Registrar of Khammam Rural and document writer Puchakayala Venkatesh red handed at Sub-Registrar office in Khammam rural when they demanded and accepted Rs.30,000 as a bribe.

The duo demanded the bribe for showing an official favour to register the gift deed document in the name of the complainant's son, which relates to the property to an extent of 2,700 square yards in survey number 713/A2 at Thallampadu village of Khammam rural mandal jointly owned by the complainant and his wife.

Initially, Aruna demanded a bribe amount of Rs.50,000 and accepted Rs. 30,000 through Venkatesh who accepted it while sitting in the complainant's car within the premises of the Sub-Registrar Office (Rural) in Khammam.

The tainted bribe amount of Rs.30,000 was recovered from Venkatesh and his both hands fingers yielded positive in the chemical test.

The ACB officials produced the arrested persons before the special court for ACB cases in Warangal after which the court remanded them to judicial custody. The details of the complainant are withheld for security reasons.
