Kavitha’s Party Seeks Resignation of Modi, Dismissal of Pradhan

K. Kavitha-led Telangana Rakshana Sena’s student wing on Friday demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resignation and the removal of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET question-paper leak. Its members marched through Osmania University in solidarity with students protesting across the country.

The procession began at the university library and continued to Arts College under the leadership of Kandula Madhu, Boddupalli Lingam and Ashok Yadav. Participants raised slogans against Modi and the Central government and sought action against those responsible for the alleged leak.

Accusing the government of “playing with students’ lives”, Madhu said Pradhan should be dismissed from the Union Cabinet. “Students are dying because the Centre is incapable of conducting examinations properly.”

Madhu also questioned the cases filed against students protesting against the alleged leak. “Will cases used against Maoists and terrorists be imposed on students merely because they protested?” he asked. He accused Modi of ignoring question-paper leaks and a theft at a Ram temple, and demanded his immediate resignation.

Repeated examination leaks had made the Modi government synonymous with such failures, Lingam said. He referred to examinations conducted by the NTA and UGC in 2024 and accused the government of ruining students’ futures.

“Can students staging peaceful protests be beaten indiscriminately?” Lingam asked. He demanded transparent conduct of future examinations and said the Union government must assure students. A fight against the government would follow if students were denied justice, he warned.
