HYDERABAD: Telangana Jagruthi leader K. Kavitha on Monday declared that she would establish a political party and contest the next Assembly elections. Kavitha’s announcement of political intentions came during an ‘Ask Kavitha’ interaction on social media platform X, and followed up on her statement recently at a press meet that that she could be Chief Minister one day.

Responding to questions during the social media interaction on her political plans, Kavitha said there was a political party on the cards, and that the party’s name would be based on feedback from the people.

Kavitha said her goal was to work for social justice, and that Telangana Jagruthi would work towards creating opportunities for women and youth in all fields. “If social justice is to be achieved, free quality education and healthcare need to become the foundations. We will soon also start a membership drive to strengthen Telangana Jagruti,” she said.

She said there was widespread resentment against the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy among the people. The Congress government had utterly flopped in keeping its promises, she said, adding that Jagruthi would launch an agitation in support of farmers whose land was taken for setting up the Pharma City by the previous BRS government, where the incumbent Congress government wanted to set up its Future City there, she said.
