Kavitha Meets KCR, KCR Later Meets KTR, Harish On Party Affairs
However, sources said Kavitha’s visit, accompanied by her family, was to seek Chandrashekar Rao’s blessings for her son who is reported to be heading abroad for further studies.
Hyderabad:Former chief minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao on Friday closeted himself with his lieutenants, the party working president K.T. Rama Rao, senior leader T. Harish Rao, along with former minister G. Jagadish Reddy and former MP B. Vinod Kumar among others at his Erravalli farmhouse where he is learnt to have discussed the BRS plans for the expected local bodies elections, and a bypoll to the Jubilee Hills MLA seat.
Adding a bit of intrigue to the Friday meeting was the visit to Chandrashekar Rao’s home by his daughter and party MLC K. Kavitha who had been at loggerheads with Rama Rao, and the party leadership over reported differences with them, and her complaints that there are forces in the BRS that were targeting her and undermining her role in the party.
However, sources said Kavitha’s visit, accompanied by her family, was to seek Chandrashekar Rao’s blessings for her son who is reported to be heading abroad for further studies. “This visit was not about politics but about family and seeking KCR’s blessings for her son,” a party source said.
But the fact that Chandrashekar Rao followed her visit with a meeting with his top advisers added significance to his second meeting of the day given the murmurs that internal differences that have spilled out with Kavitha going public with her complaints and allegations about the party, and how this might impact BRS’ prospects in the upcoming local body elections.
While speculation was rife that Chandrashekar Rao may suggest a way out with regards to the ‘Kavitha question’ in the party, sources said Friday’s meeting with senior leaders was all about the upcoming polls, the Supreme Court decision on MLC nominations, and defected MLAs. “This is one of the ongoing meetings that Chandrashekar Rao has been holding to discuss current affairs and party plans and strategies,” a party source said.
