Son Held for Killing Mom by Pushing Her Into Manjeera River
Accused Errolla Balayya and a juvenile accomplice arrested; body was dumped into Manjira river
Kamareddy: Pitlam police solved the murder case of 77-year-old Errolla Sayavva of Bollakpally village on Sunday by arresting her son, 46-year-old Errolla Balaiah, and a minor boy.
Last Thursday, the body of an unidentified woman was found in the Manjeera River near the outskirts of Bollakpally village. Based on credible information, the accused were apprehended at Koyyagutta crossroads in Banswada mandal. Police also seized the bike used in the crime and two cellphones.
During interrogation, Balaiah confessed that his mother, Sayavva, had been bedridden due to ill health and had no one to look after her. On the night of September 8, he took her on his bike to the Bollakpally bridge and pushed her into the Manjeera River, killing her.
Balaiah was remanded to judicial custody, while the juvenile was sent to a juvenile observation home. Police Superintendent M. Rajesh Chandra appreciated Banswada DSP Vittal Reddy, Banswada Rural CI Thirupathaiah, Pitlam SI Venkat Rao, and their staff for successfully solving the case.
