Jumbling System For Inter Practical Exams
The new system, which is restricted to theory examinations so far, will be implemented for government-sector colleges
Hyderabad: The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) is set to implement the jumbling system for practical exams starting February 2, 2026, allotting examination centres that are away from their institutions. Presently, students take practical exams in their respective colleges.
The new system, which is restricted to theory examinations so far, will be implemented for government-sector colleges. Students in these colleges will be allotted to a centre where there are adequate lab facilities.
As per Board rules, each must have a minimum of 50 students. Around 1,890 practical exams centres have been finalised for both general and vocational courses. Over 3.5 lakh students are expected to appear for the practical exams.
“Like last year, the examinations will be conducted under CCTV surveillance. Private colleges have also been instructed to install the cameras and integrate them with the command control centre,” TGBIE secretary, Krishna Aditya told Deccan Chronicle.
About 350 college staff will be deployed as flying squads this time. Earlier arts faculty services were roped in as the chief superintendent for exams during practicals.
The TGBIE will hold the practical exams for science and vocational streams from February 2 to 21, 2026, while English practical exams for the first and second students will be held on January 21 and 22, 2026 respectively.
The first year students will also take practical exams from next academic year. Around 7 lakh students from both first and second-years are expected to appear.
