Jubilee Hills Assembly Bypolls: 13 Nominations Filed on Wednesday

Hyderabad:BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha Gopinath on Wednesday filed her first set of nominations for the Jubilee Hills Assembly bypolls. She was accompanied by BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, along with other senior party leaders.
Around 10 am, Sunitha offered prayers at her residence along with family members before proceeding to the Shaikpet Tahsildar office. Former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, MLAs Padma Rao and Ravula Sridhar Reddy, and other BRS leaders accompanied her as she submitted her nomination papers to the Returning Officer at the Tahsildar’s office in Shaikpet.
After submitting the first set of papers, Rama Rao spoke to the media. It was reported that a second set of nominations is likely to be filed by Sunitha soon.
The by-election for the Jubilee Hills constituency was necessitated by the death of sitting MLA Maganti Gopinath.
The Election Commission issued the gazette notification for the by-election on Monday. Nominations will be accepted until October 21, scrutiny will take place on October 22, and the withdrawal of nominations will be permitted until October 24. Polling will be held on November 11, and counting of votes will take place on November 14.
On Wednesday, a total of 13 nominations were filed by 10 candidates, including the BRS nominee Sunitha. Apart from her, most of the nominations were submitted by independent candidates.
The Election Commission has issued orders prohibiting the conduct and publication of exit polls for the Jubilee Hills by-election. The ban will remain in force from November 6 to November 11 and applies to all media platforms, including print, electronic, and social media.
