HYDERABAD: BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao called upon every citizen to hoist the National Flag at their homes to commemorate 79th Independence Day, emphasising that the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is instilling patriotism in the hearts of all Indians.
He flagged off the Tiranga rally at PVNR Marg, where a large gathering of BJP leaders, workers, college students, youth and citizens from the twin cities participated, waving the Tricolour with pride.
Ramchander Rao highlighted that the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ movement, which was launched following a call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was a powerful initiative to promote unity, national pride, integrity and patriotism across the country.
He praised the enthusiastic participation of youth, students and women in the rally, reflecting the collective spirit of the nation. Around 3,000 students led by Mahbub College Society institutions and a number of senior BJP leaders including P.L. Srinivas, Mahila Morcha president Mekala Shilpa Reddy, BJYM president Sevella Mahender and others.
Speaking at the event, Ramchander stated India was progressing with good governance and has risen to become the world’s fourth-largest economic power, with the potential to emerge as a superpower in the near future under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. He stressed that patriotism and nationalism were essential for the nation’s development and the nationwide flag-hoisting campaign was inspired by this spirit.
In Telangana alone, 40 lakh households have proudly hoisted the Tricolour, showcasing their love and dedication to the country. He urged that this spirit of patriotism should be passed on to future generations. He affirmed that, as per Prime Minister Modi’s call, the National Flag was flying atop every home and street, with the Tiranga Yatra continuing to strengthen the nation’s unity and resolve.
Ramchander Rao remembered the sacrifices of thousands of freedom fighters and great leaders whose struggles guided India’s path to independence and served as a beacon for coming generations. He also condemned the partition of the country, pointing out that Pakistan, which divided and looted Indian resources, and the British, who partitioned India on religious lines, were supported by the Congress at that time.
