JNTU HoD Held for Violating Guest Faculty in Car in Hyderabad
The incident came to light when she lodged a complaint with the KPHB police, who booked a case against the HoD and arrested him
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police arrested the JNTU-Hyderabad Head of Department (HoD) for allegedly raping a guest faculty member in his car.
The Kukatpally Housing Board Colony (KPHB) police remanded the HoD to judicial custody after arresting the HoD, who was aged around 54 years. The victim joined as a guest faculty at the JNTU five months ago.
Since then the HOD started moving closely with her, promising to help her in all fronts. When she tried to maintain distance with him, the HOD threatened her with dire consequences stating that she would be removed from service.
The HOD took the victim to a secluded place on the pretext of discussing an issue in his car and violated her. The incident came to light when she lodged a complaint with the KPHB police, who booked a case against the HoD and arrested him.
