KARIMNAGAR: Former minister T. Jeevan Reddy on Sunday resigned from the Congress, ending a political association of over four decades.

In a statement, he cited prolonged mental distress and repeated humiliation within the party at both local and state levels over the past 20 months, stating that he could no longer continue in the organisation. The development follows recent internal changes in Jagtial, where prominence was given to leaders who joined from other parties, which he viewed as undermining senior leaders.
Supporters in Jagtial displayed posters expressing solidarity with the leader following his announcement.
In an open letter to his associates and supporters, Jeevan Reddy invited them to a meeting on March 25 at a private function hall on Gollapalli Road in Jagtial to discuss his future course.
The letter stated that he had been associated with the party for over 40 years but found it difficult to continue under the present circumstances. He sought the views of his supporters before taking further decisions. Despite outreach from senior leaders and AICC observers, he remained firm on his decision to resign.
Sources said he is expected to take a decision on his future political course after the March 25 meeting.
