Karimnagar: Jagtial MLA Dr S. Sanjay Kumar on Monday announced that he switched from the BRS to the Congress for development of his constituency despite displeasure among BRS leaders.

During an inspection of ongoing projects in various wards of Jagtial district, Dr Sanjay explained that remaining in the Opposition would have made it difficult to secure necessary funds. He commended Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for committing over ₹100 crore to Jagtial, highlighting major developmental progress comparable to what BRS achieved in a decade.
Dr Sanjay detailed that over ₹2.8 crore was allocated for the development of Mote Cheruvu, along with proposals for water purification and improved drainage planning near Chintakunta Cheruvu. He acknowledged some inconveniences faced by residents but assured that officials are clearing encroachments on drains to prevent flooding. With support from both the Central and state governments, he promised that more development projects will be undertaken in the Jagtial constituency in the coming days.
