Hyderabad: The sleuths of Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday conducted a surprise check at Bichkunda police station in Kamareddy district following allegations of corruption in releasing vehicles detained in sand smuggling cases.

During the searches, around 10 tractors with sand loaded trolleys were found on the police station premises. When the details of the cases were verified, the ACB sleuths noticed that the vehicles had been kept in the police station for several days without any valid reason.

The ACB officials said that several irregularities were noticed during the surprise check and added that a report would be sent to the State government against the officers concerned for taking necessary action.

“In case of demand for bribes by any public servant, the people can contact the ACB’s toll-free number 1064 for taking action as per law. The ACB can also be contacted through social media platforms WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB), X/formerly Twitter(@TelanganaACB). The name and details of the victim/complainant will be kept secret,” officials said.
