IPS Trainee Accused Misbehaved With Police Officers
Police allege accused misbehaved during arrest; commissioner monitors investigation.
Hyderabad: IPS trainee M. Uday Krishna Reddy, who was arrested for alleged sexual harassment and assault of a woman trainee IPS officer at the National Police Academy here, has reportedly not cooperated with interrogators.
According to a police officer, Krishna Reddy was reluctant to speak; when he spoke, he was rash, forcing senior officials to intervene. He was arrested at Miryalaguda on Tuesday and is currently lodged in the Chanchalguda Central Prison.
When he was arrested, sources claimed, Krishna Reddy allegedly misbehaved with the police team and threatened them with consequences as they were dealing with an IPS officer. “You will face consequences; do not touch me, I am an IPS officer,” he is reported to have said, according to police sources.
Hyderabad police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar is personally monitoring this case to ensure the accused is punished as per law. “Our special branch teams, on instructions of the commissioner, are monitoring the activities of the police officers. Any violation of duties will not be tolerated,” the officer said.
