Intense Coldwave Persists Across Telangana

Temperatures plunge sharply in Hyderabad and several districts; KB Asifabad records lowest at 5.6°C

Meteorological officials said coldwave conditions are likely to persist in parts of the state, advising people to take precautions during early morning and night hours.

Telangana continued to reel under an intense coldwave for the 24th consecutive day on Monday, with temperatures dipping sharply across several districts and parts of Hyderabad recording single-digit and near-single-digit minimums.

In Hyderabad, the lowest temperature was recorded at HCU, Serilingampally, where the mercury dropped to 8.8°C. Other cold pockets in the GHMC limits included Rajendranagar (10°C), Moula Ali (10.2°C), Gachibowli (10.9°C), Alwal and Qutbullapur (11°C each), followed by Sivarampalle (11.1°C) and Macha Bollaram (11.3°C). Several other localities reported minimum temperatures between 11.6°C and 12.9°C.

Across Telangana, Komaram Bheem Asifabad recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 5.6°C, followed by Adilabad (6°C), Sangareddy (6.8°C), Rangareddy (7.7°C) and Vikarabad (8.5°C). Districts such as Kamareddy and Nirmal registered 9°C, while Siddipet (9.4°C), Medak (9.7°C) and Peddapalli (9.9°C) also witnessed severe cold conditions.
