Indiramma House for Every Poor Family: Bhatti
Addressing the gathering, Bhatti Vikramarka said Indiramma Rajyam is committed to the welfare of poor and middle-class families and assured that every eligible poor family would be provided an Indiramma House.
Karimnagar: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said the Congress government is working to make Telangana a global leader in development. Along with ministers D. Sridhar Babu, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Konda Surekha and Adluri Laxman Kumar, he launched development projects worth Rs 633 crore in the Ramagundam constituency.
Later, the Deputy Chief Minister and other ministers addressed a massive public meeting organised under the leadership of Ramagundam MLA Makkan Singh Raj Tagore at the Government Junior College Grounds in Godavarikhani, Peddapalli district.
Addressing the gathering, Bhatti Vikramarka said Indiramma Rajyam is committed to the welfare of poor and middle-class families and assured that every eligible poor family would be provided an Indiramma House.
He announced several major initiatives, including the proposed construction of an 800 MW thermal power plant in Ramagundam. The Deputy Chief Minister said the government is spending Rs 22,500 crore on the Indiramma Housing scheme, with Rs 5 lakh being provided per house in instalments to ensure timely completion. He also stated that 96 lakh families are now receiving Sanna Biyyam (fine rice), replacing the inferior-quality rice supplied earlier.
In a major step towards labour welfare, Bhatti announced a Rs 1 crore insurance cover for Singareni workers and all state government employees, and reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding Singareni Collieries as a public sector undertaking.
Minister Sridhar Babu said residents living for decades on Singareni lands would soon be issued pattas to regularise their houses. Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy alleged that former chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao prioritised commissions in the Kaleshwaram project over public welfare.
Endowments minister Konda Surekha announced that house sites would be allotted to 50 transgender persons in Ramagundam, marking a first-of-its-kind initiative. Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar announced plans to construct a modern SC hostel in Godavarikhani and renovate the Government Junior College.
The ministers said the Congress government is pursuing inclusive development, citing measures such as 200 units of free electricity and free bus travel for women. They accused the previous BRS government of neglecting development over the last decade and urged people to support the Congress in the upcoming municipal elections to sustain the development momentum.
