Independence Day: Constable from Telangana gets Gallantry Medal

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday declared awards for the police of all the States including Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and UTs on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations.

Hyderabad: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday declared awards for the police of all the States including Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and Union Territories (UTs) on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations.

While 20 police personnel including IG A. Ravi Krishna from Andhra Pradesh AP, 11 police personnel including a Deputy Commissioner of Police, N Ravi from Telangana got Medal Meritorious Service (MSM).

A police constable, Katravath Raju Naik from Telangana got Medal for Gallantry. Gallantry medal is presented to recognize the acts of exceptional courage in saving lives, protecting property, curbing crime, or apprehending offenders even at great personal risk.

Bhadraiah Chennupati, a Superintendent of Police and Rajeev Kumar Gopu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police from Andhra Pradesh apart from Siddaiah Myathari, an Assistant Sub Inspector and Hussain Nidamanuri, a head constable from Telangana, got President's Medal for their distinguished service in the department.
