Incessant Rains Hamper Ganesh Festival Preparations in Hyderabad
The devotees wrapped the idols with plastic and tarpaulin covers and brought them to their respective pandals in auto trolleys.
Hyderabad: After a short break, the incessant rains that continued to lash the city since Monday evening kept the Ganesh pandal organizers on the edge as it hampered the grand preparations for the celebrations on Wednesday.
As the organizers are gearing for the last minute arrangements including decoration with different colours of clothes and flowers, the rain hampered their preparedness. Those bringing five feet and above height idols from the dingy lanes of Dhoolpet faced several problems.
Left with no other option, the devotees wrapped the idols with plastic and tarpaulin covers and brought them to their respective pandals in auto trolleys. The pandals that were put up at various locations in twin cities were also wrapped with tarpaulin sheets to protect from rain water during the 11-day festival.
