IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall in Parts of Telangana, Orange Alert Issued
Orange Alert issued in parts of Telangana, Southwest monsoon likely to hit Kerala, Tamil Nadu on June 4th.
Hyderabad: With the Southwest monsoon likely to hit Kerala and Tamil Nadu states by Thursday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted medium to high rainfall in parts of Telangana on Wednesday and Thursday.
The state-wide forecast in Telangana has indicated Orange alert in many areas with high rainfall and thunderstorms in districts including Adilabad, Kumaran Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna-Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubnagar, Warangal, Hanamkonda. The weather body has noted that the mentioned districts will receive heavy rainfall with thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday.
Meanwhile, several districts had received heavy rainfall on Tuesday, with Enkoor mandal of Khammam district alone recording 7.9 cm of rainfall. Similarly, Aswaraopet in Bhadradri Kothagudem and Venkatapuram Mandal of Mulugu district received 4 and 1.7 cm of rainfall, respectively. Also, 27 districts of Telangana recorded temperatures hovering between 40.2 and 44.7 °C on Tuesday.
