IMD Forecast Heavy Rain For Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad & Mancherial For Friday

Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast heavy rainfall for Friday at Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad and Mancherial districts, and lightning thunderstorms with gusty winds of 30 to 40 km/h at isolated locations in Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts, ahead of the Ganesh nimmajanam celebrations.

For Hyderabad, IMD forecast light rain or thundershowers across the city. It also forecast surface winds of up to 10 kmph.

Ut said Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts could receive thunderstorms accompanied by lightning with winds gusting up to 50 km/h at isolated locations on Friday.

Low to moderate flash flood risk was forecast for Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mulugu, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Kumuram Bheem, Mancherial and Jagtial districts for Wednesday. The IMD noted that the deep depression that crossed the coast had moved north-westwards, and was likely to move north-north-westwards until Friday and weaken gradually.

Suryapet’s Thirumalagiri saw 63.5 mm rain on Thursday, heaviest in the state. In the city, Medchal Malkajgiri’s Vinayaknagar and Dundigal received 3.5 mm of rainfall each, and Borabanda saw 1.3 mm of rain.
