Ikebana Master Ho-Kiku Vineetha Alugaddala To Receive Consul General's Commendation Award
She is the founder member and former president of Ikebana International Hyderabad Chapter #250.
Hyderabad:Ikebana master Ho-Kiku Vineetha Alugaddala has been selected for the prestigious Consul General of Japan’s Commendation Award in recognition of her contribution to promoting Japanese culture, and strengthening Indo-Japanese friendship through the traditional art of Ikebana. Takahashi Muneo, Consul-General of Japan in Chennai, will present the award to Vineetha here on Sunday.
A first master’s degree holder from the Ohara School of Ikebana in Japan, Vineetha has dedicated over 37 years to practising, teaching, and promoting this Japanese floral art.
She is the founder member and former president of Ikebana International Hyderabad Chapter #250.
Vineetha has contributed extensively through exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops, and international cultural exchanges including a demonstration at the recently concluded 16th Asian Regional conference hosted by Ikebana International Manila Chapter at Manila, the Philippines, according to a statement.
