Nalgonda: Munugode MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy on Tuesday once again expressed dissatisfaction over being excluded from the Cabinet, stating that leaders who joined the Congress from other parties and were junior to him had been given berths.

Speaking to the media after inaugurating a 22/11 KV sub-station at Lachammagudem in Sansthan Narayanpur mandal of Yadadri-Bhongir district, he said that some forces were misinterpreting his statements, attributing them — regardless of their context — to his disappointment over not being given a cabinet post by the party high command.

He asserted that if his sole intention had been to become a minister, he could have contested from the LB Nagar Assembly constituency. He made it clear that the people of his Munugode constituency were more important to him than a ministerial post.

Stating that Munugode is one of the most backward constituencies, Raj Gopal Reddy said that the responsibility for its development lay on his shoulders. He had contested from Munugode to fulfil that responsibility.

Emphasising that he was not one who begged for posts, the Munugode MLA said that while the party high command may have promised him a Cabinet post, it was ultimately up to them to fulfil that promise. He added that those who are in politics to earn crores of rupees may chase positions, but a leader like him does not.

Terming himself a senior leader within the Congress, he claimed to have completed the task assigned to him to ensure the victory of Congress candidates in a Lok Sabha constituency. He said he is prepared to fight or even make sacrifices for the development of Munugode and the welfare of its people.
